Zuntz Optikoa Zumaia (ZOZ) the project promoted by the Zumaia City Council together with the Guifi·net Foundation to install fiber optic throughout the municipality, achieves the necessary connections to register its first users.

ZOZ aims to provide quality Internet access through a participatory fiber optic network, with total coverage in the municipality and multi-operator.

The construction and management of the network, thanks to the contributions of individuals, the municipality, and companies, allows to cover the entire territory in a sustainable and environmentally responsible way, eliminating the digital divide in the area. In addition, the presence of different local operators allows users to choose between different commercial offers at fair prices, reducing costs and enhancing the local economy.

Homes and premises located between the Far and the Old Town will have the service activated before March and it is expected that the entire municipality will enjoy fiber optic before the end of the year. Future users will be able to contract the service through the following operators: ABAILA, BIKOTEK, EVEL and MARA-EKIN.

Those who want more information about the project and/or know the estimated arrival of ZOZ at their home can check it on the website https://www.labur.eus/ZOZ or by calling +34 656 511 916.
